I served as a paramedic for years, helping people during their most challenging times. However, my life changed dramatically after I contracted COVID-19 while caring for my community. Dealing with Long Covid and PTSD has been one of my toughest challenges, but it also marked a significant turning point for me.
Being a paramedic was more than a job; it was a calling. I thrived in the fast-paced environment, knowing I was making a difference. But the pandemic intensified everything—the risks, the long hours, and the emotional toll. Like many, I poured myself into helping others, often neglecting my own health.
COVID-19 forced me to confront my limits. Long Covid left me with lasting symptoms, and PTSD cast a shadow over my life. It was a difficult time, but I realized I needed to take charge of my health to truly heal.
I started prioritizing my physical and mental health, discovering that healing involves creating a solid foundation for a balanced future.
Mental Health: Practices like meditation and connecting with nature were calming during chaotic times and helped to manage stress.
Nutrition: Focusing on an anti-inflammatory diet gave me the pain-free energy I needed to face each day.
Physical Activity: Regular movement, such as walking, hiking, stretching, and gardening helped me regain strength and stamina.
Now, I’m on a mission to share my experiences with others facing similar challenges. My goal is to create a space where we can support and learn from one another.
